So it was a great event…?
Maybe we did a good job, but we certainly made mistakes. Making sure we leave the harbour clean (preferably even cleaner then how we found it) both on shore and on the water is something we need to improve on. Also we still don’t seem to get the transfer from good fun on the water to good food and drinks on the shore seamless. Although certainly the party on Friday reminded some of the old days in the yachtclub on the Dr. Lelykade in the early nineties….
But by far our biggest mistake relates to the Supercup.
It’s purpose to tie all the NSR related races together and determine the best yacht having participated in all races, gives it an important status, but also the one prize for which the results are calculated manually… And although the final entry of data and check of calculations was done threefold by two persons, the initial set up of the spreadsheet was done by just one person and this never got reviewed or checked. In this set up we forgot to include the entire TwoHanded class and with Ajeto sailing a flawless series, their string of first places never got entered.
So with utmost apologies and biggest regrets, the winner of the Supercup is not Numero Uno, but rather the very well sailed and campaigned Ajeto, John van de Starre and Robin Verhoef!! Thanks to a disappointed but understanding team of Numero Uno, the Supercup is already with it’s rightful owners.
There will always be room for improvement…
